Step55 Club launched in September 2022, thanks to support from Connect Me, a Government of Jersey funding initiative in support of the following:

- For Jersey residents to participate in arts and physical activities
- To improve some of the physical and mental health impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and related isolation

Step55 Club set out to deliver these objectives through supporting three individuals from the Jersey dance community to run their own classes and further empower them to support the community through their dance experience, skills and expertise. Since COVID, Step55 Club have seen a resurgence in line dancing, most likely aided through the need for socially inclusive activity that doesn't require physical contact, thus enabling people to attend classes on their own.

Two of Step55 Club's dance hosts are very experienced line dancers, with the other being a very experienced qualified contemporary and performance dance teacher.

Step55 Club is managed by the social enterprise Tea Dance Club.
