About the teacher
Laurent Guilbaud, originally from Clermont-Ferrand, France, is a highly acclaimed dancer and repetiteur with a distinguished global ballet career. Trained at the Paris Opéra Ballet School and the National Conservatory in Avignon, he has performed with elite companies like Stuttgart Ballet, Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, and Semperoper Ballet Dresden. His repertoire spans classical and contemporary works, including collaborations with choreographers such as Celis and Ratmansky. After earning a teaching diploma in Paris in 2016, Laurent became a Ballet Master with English National Ballet, sharing his expertise across Europe.
Laurent has been a part of the Ballet d'Jèrri story from day 1, teaching for their inaugural audition classes in London and visiting Jersey for the first time last year to train the company members, and run workshops for local dance students. Ballet d'Jèrri are thrilled to continue this collaboration and welcome back a member of their extended family.
Location: Fort Regent - once you enter the building, go to the left and head towards the basketball courts; you will see the Ballet d'Jèrri sign outside the studio
Timings: 18:00 - 19:15; doors at 17:30 - arriving 15-30 minutes before the class starts to warm up and stretch is recommended
Suitable for: All ages, but please bear in mind that this class will be geared towards students at an advanced technique level
Wear: Form-fitting clothes that show your lines and do not restrict movement, and soft ballet shoes (pointe shoes are not necessary but you can bring them if you wish)
